It is patience that implies self-control. As Thomas Jefferson quoted, “Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances.” I have done just that while observing the expressions and experiences of everyone who has poured their hearts out over the pain, devastation, confusion, and longing to find their place in or out of the Anusara community. I have been in a state of waiting since the John Friend exposure. Waiting for what? I do not know. I have been in the certification process for some time now. I have completed the written exam and was working on my video. Since February I have been trying to figure out if I was going to continue with the certification process. I do not need a brand name to carry my true authentic self, but as Wendy so humbly stated, “Regardless of what happens to Anusara (the company or the school), the certification program remains a high standard yoga teaching program. In my humble opinion, what you gain from it is much more than a license on a piece of paper. You gain the skills and knowledge and practice to better yourself as a yoga teacher. That you will have with you no matter where you go or what you do in the future. And regardless, you will always teach what you know from the heart.” The teachings of Anusara are expressed superbly by one of my philosophy teachers Dr. Douglas Brooks. I have connected and I am living every attribute of it. My life has been enriched and the teachings have allowed me to live my purpose. I have blossomed into a happier person. Thank you Anusara and I will continue to look for the good. In continuing to look for the good, I am going to continue with the certification process. It may open another door for me in the future such as being invited to teach with another certified teacher. I will continue to study and embrace the teachings of all enlightened beings that shine so much beauty within and throughout this world. A new cycle is unfolding. I am refining my own practice and teachings while creating and expressing my own authentic true self. I have studied with many teachers and they have all brought something special to my heart. I will offer my wellspring of knowledge and share the teachings to all of those who seek to unfold their natural state of total health and integration. BKS Iyengar quoted, “Yoga does not seek to change the individual, but allows the natural state of total health and integration in each of us to become reality.” I have truly connected to what yoga was originally used for, “a spiritual practice.” I am excited to perceive where my next journey will take me, as we know the possibilities are endless. Imagine yourself as the sphinx. Some will think you are the most beautiful thing they have ever seen. Some will be disappointed, and others will not even notice because they are so wrapped up in their own thoughts and distractions. I remain unaffected and content with this because you will never please everyone. We all have many different realities based on our beliefs, interpretations, and associations. Be free to be…your true authentic self and be patient, let go, and start flowing.
